A Very Sad Day...

As most of you may know, 40-year old fashion designer, Lee McQueen (founder of the company Alexander McQueen), was found dead in his London home shortly after 10am this morning. The cause of death was suicide leading many to believe he took his life because of his mother's death last week.

I was in absolute devastated shock when I heard this news. McQueen was an inspiration to fashion designers all over the world, including myself, because of his unique talent and extraordinary creativity. If you have never seen a McQueen collection, you are missing out. His runway shows are a complete theatrical event with dramatic headpieces, towering heels, and extravagantly tailored clothing. Many would call it just plain bizarre, but it is that 'edge' that maintains a designer's stern position in the fashion industry and McQueen was one who I believed would be one of the last standing.

One of his lines, McQ, was set to show at New York Fashion week today but was cancelled because of the tragedy.

In loving memory of the designer, I have put together some photos of my favorite pieces from his last few collections.

My upcoming 'Villain' collection was very much inspired by you, Mr. McQueen, and the fashion world will miss you dearly. Rest In Peace.
